Due to the fact that sulphuric acid is highly corrosive, it can cause severe damage to the skin, eyes and/or respiratory system if it is inhaled, swallowed or spilled on the body, and needs direct medical attention. If it is spilled on the skin/eyes, it may cause inflammation, blistering, burns and/or severe damage to one’s vision. If sulphuric acid is swallowed, it may cause serious burns to one’s digestive system and/or damage to tissue and organs that is irreversible. However, there are no alternatives that can truly replace sulphuric acid and it's properties/uses.
